Interactive Thursday!

Topic:

What is one song or album that you’ve listened to over and over again in a very rough period of your life?
What is your sad song?

Mine:

Oh god..... there are so many.

This is the main one.... oh god. So good.
Sleether and Amy Lee... god everytime I heard that song I wanted to cry. This came out when I was mourning over my ex from high school while in college, and we had broken up and i still loved him... still do.
Ugh!

What is yours? I hope this isn' too depressing! Thoughts!? Comments?!

    Gravity - Sara Bareilles

Then, there's the stand by "I'm pissed off at the world" song that I listen to at full blast when I'm in a really bad mood....

  10. MysterG-Great choice.

One song in particular that really helped in high school was Billy Joel's "You're Only Human (Second Wind)". I also love his "Summer Highland, Falls", along with some good "scream out the window" songs, like "Miami 2017", and "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant".

Elton John's "The King Must Die", "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues", "Take Me To The Pilot", "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding", and "Burn Down The Mission".

Pearl Jam's version of "Love Reign O'Er Me".

Metallica's "Frayed Ends of Sanity" and "Fuel".

  12. Blink 182's "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" album. I don't know why, but when anything would be bothering me, since the moment that CD was in my possession, I've just put it on and listened to it repeatedly to calm down.

  16. Oh a very good one...and completely describes how I feel right now. I try not to listen to sad songs when I'm sad because then it makes me too sad.

  17. OMG I totally listened to that song too when I was getting over my ex. Such a good song. I would say I also listen to Kelly Clarkson's songs when I was getting over my ex and recently I have been listening to Carly Simon because it reminds me of my family, which is both happy and sad because I miss them. Aww, Evanescence. They should come out with a new album! I hear them!

And if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave, Cuz your presence still lingers here, And it wont leave me alone

  28. Sad songs...everything I listened to in my teens and most of my twenties. Sarah Mclaughlin, U2, some Springsteen...I can't stomach them anymore though. I need happy songs except for when I want the occasional good cry.
