“the best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. no apologies or excuses. no one to lean on, rely on, or blame. the gift is yours – it is an amazing journey – and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. this is the day your life really begins.”

interesting quote. sometimes i forget that it's my life and to do things for me and experience them for me. i let other people control my life and what i do. i wish i could change that. i think i need to start with having a job first so that i can have some sort of way to my actual OWN life. right now, i feel like so stuck and it doesnt help that it is snowing out and i am literally stuck inside my house! do you ever feel this way? like you're living your life for other people? and they just dont consider anything about you at all?

that's a fabulous quote and exactly what i needed to hear today. thanks for posting!
Great quote. It's always best to be proactive:)Something I'm working on as well.
Amazing quote and I'm right there with ya. At least it stopped snowing here in NY... For me, I want a blizzard or nothing at all! LOL
Fantastic quote.
I have to say, I've been feeling like you've described a lot recently - I put it down to the fact that I've finished University and have started my working life and I'm feeling a bit disillusioned by my lack of freedom, but to be honest I think it's more than that!
I think I got my degree and went straight into a job that I knew everyone would want me to do, but actually, I don't know if it's sustainable in the long term, and I do feel like I did it basically just for them!
It's a tricky one, isn't it, but I do agree - 2011 is definitely the time to stop letting other people control our lives! :)

Yes absolutely - I feel this way all the time. I'm determined to change that this year. I know it's part of my personality to be an observer, but that's no excuse for letting my life become someone else's. I am starting in small ways: buying houseplants, listening to music more, getting those end tables for my living room that I've been meaning to buy for a year. It's time for me to start DOING instead of just thinking about it!
I hate anytime I feel stagnated. I think getting a job is a good start though. I finally got one and i, even though i'm tired a lot, feel happier because of the interaction i'm getting.
