Day 10 & 11, Blog 09 Challenge

December 10 Album of the Year. What's rocking your world?

December 11 The Best Place.A coffee shop? A pub? A retreat center? A cubicle? A nook?

Album of the Year....

Jayz's album definitely!

Best Place of the Year...

The best coffee shop I went to this year was Santa Cruz Coffee Roasters.

They have everything there, even a coffee learning room. I must say I was impressed. There are not many coffee shops in my area, so it was nice to go to California and see many independent coffee houses!

Day 8 & 9, Blog 09 Challenge

December 8 An hour or a day or a week of solitude. What was the quality of your breath? The state of your mind? How did you get there?

December 9 Something that really made you grow this year. That made you go to your edge and then some. What made it the best challenge of the year for you?

Nothing for December 8th... this was a really stressful horrible year.

December 9,

My biggest challenge was the break-up with T. That was the worst and most ridiculous stress I have experienced ever in my life.

Here is the link. Very horrible and stressful and I am so glad the month of August is over because that was the worst!

I have learned many things about myself, about other people, about my friends, about people I thought were my friends, about people who I didn't know were my friends, and about who I am and who I wasn't.

I am still learning these things as I write this and I know that during this time, I thought I lost who I was, and most of my friends say that I did --I wasn't the same person anymore. But I was told recently, that that girl was coming back. And that is really exciting to hear! Especially because I was turning into someone I hated....

I can't wait for a new year to start from a fresh slate and build this year better. And I can't wait to make up for my shitty '09 summer!!!

What was your biggest challenge in 2009?

Day 7 Blog 09 Challenge

December 7 Blog of the Year. That gem of a blog you can't believe you didn't know about until this year.

There are so many.. since I only started blogging this year, so I met everyone this year and loved them all.

Unfortunately I am unable to pick who the BEST is.. because there definetly is not one!

If you look through my coffee cup awards lists, you will see my favorites.. but that is once a week, and it will take FOREVER to name them all :)

So I would have to say that my favorite blog this year is the fact that I started blogging and my FAVORITES are my 304 followers ((holy crap BTW!)) that I have become to know since March.

Day 5 & 6 Blog 09 Challenge

December 5 Night out. Did you have a night out with friends or a loved one that rocked your world? Who was there? What was the highlight of the night?

December 6 Workshop or conference. Was there a conference or workshop you attended that was especially beneficial? Where was it? What did you learn?

The best night out this year that I had was by far Halloween

. There were a lot of times before that in which we had fun out, but for Halloween I was single, with my girls, and even though we waited in line for 2 hours to get into the bar, it was mad fun. I had a great time.

There was no one holding us back, no men around, the time changed, we had an hour more to party. It was good times :)

OH my OTHER best night was in California at a club in San Francisco.... that was SICK times :) But I have no pictures to prove it... sooooo!!!

More to come...

What was your best night of the year?

Blog 2009 Challenge, Day 3 &4

December 3- I have nothing.

December 4 Book. What book - fiction or non - touched you? Where were you when you read it? Have you bought and given away multiple copies?

The best book I read this year (since I read all the Twilight's last year) was Marching Powder by Rusty Young.

I found it when I was in Peru and read it the whole time. It was such a great story, and it was non-fiction which made it even better.

Basically it is about a guy Thomas who got caught in Bolivia for drug trafficking and he ended up in the Bolivian prison, which isn't even really a prison it is more like peoples homes. The guy Thomas ends up bringing in tourists and having them go on tours of the prison and he meets the author Rusty who helps him write a book and get him out of jail.

It was a great book to fall upon.

Check it out at amazon.

Day 2 Blog 09 Challenge

December 2 Restaurant moment. Share the best restaurant experience you had this year. Who was there? What made it amazing? What taste stands out in your mind?

My best restaurant experiences were in other countries.

The restaurants in Spain, Peru, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Portugal.

They were always the best ones and usually the smallest restaurants. I love small authentic restaurants, especially when no one speaks English. It makes the experience so much more interesting.

Can you tell I loveeeee ceviche? Lol....

What about you?

blog challenge: best of 2009

I found the blog challenge, best of 2009 from Gwen Bell.

31 posts in 31 days for December

December 1st - What was your best trip of 2009?

This is a tough call. I went to Costa Rica, Peru, and California.

This was my biggest year of traveling ever. It was great. My ex T and I traveled to Costa Rica in March for 10 days and 14 days in Peru. I went to California for 4 days.

I would say that my best trip was to Costa Rica. I LOVED Costa Rica.

We rented a car and drove across the country to the Caribbean coast and then drove back to the Pacific coast. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I have wanted to go to Costa Rica for years now and I finally got to. I saw a volcano, a coffee farm, wild horses and many other crazy things. We drove through the back farms where no one spoke English, picked up an old grandmother hitch hiker who spoke no English and got lost and found out way. I experienced life in a third world country and it felt so normal to me.

I miss this place... I want to go back.
