Yes. I used to ... when I was younger. Life was hard and everything hurt. I did not physically run away from my problems, but I bottled them up inside and suppressed it all. At 17 years old, I exploded. Anger, bitterness, resentment. EVERYTHING! I let everything out. It felt good at the time, but it still hurt. I learned that running away doesn't really get rid of your problems. It only masks them. I suggest you use your time in Cali to just relax and ease your mind, but don't think of it as running away, b/c nothing is solved that way. But do enjoy your time there. :-)

As Bono once put it, I tried to drown my sorrows, but my sorrows, they learned to swim.

Sorry to say, but when running from your problems... they tend to follow you.

Sometimes it's okay to run from your problems, take a deep breath and seek for a little silence. But don't forget to come back and finish your problems :) I know you can do it!

yes, ive done that. I just took a break from it. Taking a break from reality gives you the chance to think clearly and figure out what your next move is. good luck!

Yes, I have. Listen to your instincts. If you need space then take it. I hope whatever is wrong passes soon and that California brings you good energy. :)

I ran away from my last big relationship. I couldn't face the rejection so I never put up the fight. But it's okay now a year and a half later. I realized it was my time to leave even if it was in the middle of night but I had to leave. It's okay to leave for a bit. Sometimes you just need a break. =)

when i was in high school, i was real shy and hated social situations like when i had to dance or do public speaking.. so i ended up being a loner and staying behind in my dorm room while my mates went for parties and stuff :( ..guess that was my way of running away to avoid gettin embarassd

I have. I was doing it with booze, first, and in the middle of being drunk I booked a trip to Czech Republic and left the next day for a week. Best thing I ever did. It cleared my head a lot.
