I am heading to Mystic, CT tomorrow. I am pretty excited about it because I have never been there and I heard it was beautiful. I hope the traffic is not insanely horrible and I hope I get some sorta tan out of this!
I haven been tanning more lately because I do have more time, so this weekend should be about getting brown for me! lol... especially being Irish and all.
If anyone has been here before, please let me know of any great places to go! I always love these small little coastal towns (hence my favorite place in the world being Portsmouth, NH --which i wish i could go to this weekend but its just too far)
So last year at this time, I was in the Jersey Shore with my best friend and my ex and a bunch of friends, and it was a really great time. Unfortunately, I cannot have that time back or compare to it for this year because I do have to work at the bar, but I will try to spend as much time outside as possible and as much time with my guy to compensate for the fun i had last year.
I have recently began to learn that not everything comes down to going out to bars and partying all the time... there are other things that are just as fun that don't involve being at a club.
I knew this already, but sometimes when you're single its hard to act on that... and honestly, I dont want to be that person that is only about going out and partying all the time. There are other things in life... if only time allowed for it.
Have a happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Prom Season
{picture}
i really wish i could go to prom again! i honestly only want to go so that i can wear the dress. and that is the only reason lol.
it would be fun though, especially if i could go with all my friends that i have now... why can't their be a prom for adults? i know that would basically be called a wedding lol but you can't go all out and wear prom dresses to a wedding!
do you wish you could go back to prom?

Eat. Pray. Love

Have you seen this movie? If not, go see it. Or even read the book. It was great. The meaning to it and what happened throughout were a great lesson and honestly, I wish I could do what she did in it. And maybe I don't just wish it, I actually want to do them. Putting yourself in situations where you are totally uncomfortable and then trying to make it work.
And I absolutely love Julia Roberts, so that automatically won me over.
I only wish I could get a book deal from a publisher to pay for my trip. Seriously, pay me and I will travel wherever you want and write whatever you like. That is an absolutely dream for me! Although I know that most likely will never happen, I will probably just have to take accounts into my own hands and write about places that I go for free, ha ha.
Have you seen this movie or read the book? Give me your opinion.. I would love to hear.

"People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.
A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.
A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master..."

Costa Rica: To go or Not to go?
{picture}
When I graduated college, I wanted to go to Costa Rica and teach English. I couldn't find a program in time so I got a job instead and ever since, I have regretted not going.
The time is coming up again, where this can actually be huge and beneficial, but it requires leaving for 6 months to 1 year, and living there.
I need to get the certificate to get a job there and that won't take that long and it costs $1,200 to do it online.
I would go there in January and teach, come back in June or so.
I have always been about getting up and going and moving and going places, but I have never up and left my life for months at a time. Would this really be a scary thing? Would I still come back and go back to my life as normal? I honestly, am scared of leaving. It is never easy to pick up from all your life and your friends and family and go away alone.
But, then again, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and if I don't do it soon, I will most likely never do it and will most definitely regret it.
It is really hard for me to decide.... so I am turning to you....

When Did Dating Have to Turn into Marriage?
{picture}
Where along the path did being in a relationship turn into a 'if we're together for X number of years or months we have to get engaged or married'?
Can anyone tell me at what age this all switched over?
Or are you wondering what the hell I'm talking about?
Think of it this way. When you were in high school and you were just dating whoever and the 'i love you's' were being thrown out there and you all thought this was the person you were going to marry, but then you went to college and it was all over from there... well, at that point, it was all fun, and you most likely weren't ever going to get married to them (ok ok for the 1 off cases who actually marry their high school sweetheart)
Even in college, you could date someone and not have to think that you needed to marry this person in order to date them otherwise it was a waste of your time.
Now.. after college, I understand the part about growing up and wanting to settle down and blah blah blah.... but it really puts SO much pressure on relationships and almost takes out all of the fun. You can barely just enjoy the relationship or even the fact of not being in a relationship because people think once you are at this certain point, whatever age you have in your mind, that being with someone SHOULD result in engagement or it's a waste of your time.
Trust me, I want to get married and have a family and the whole 9 yards. But right now I am sort of digressing and wanting to be in a relationship to just have fun and not have the pressure to think...."Is this the guy I am going to end up with?" "Will I marry this kid?" "Should I introduce them to everyone in my family because he will be around for a long time?"
Those are questions I really don't want to deal with right now. I have felt those feelings a couple times now and I have been incredibly mistaken. I want to just be able to be with someone and not have to feel like I need to know what is going to happen with this person in a year from now.
My most recent relationship and even the one before that, I had pictured and planned what it would have been like to have married them etc... and you know what? They don't even exist in my life anymore. Shit changes and all of those thoughts and those family members that should have never even have met these people did, and I think all of this effects why I am moving backwards.
But it is also not a bad thing.
Too much planning and mapping out your life doesn't leave any room for mistakes or disasters that happen to occur when you have everything mapped out.
I like the guy I am dating, and I am not living past this moment. Whatever happens, happens.
If i have learned three things in my past relationships, they are:
1. Never bring them to a family event unless you have been dating over 1 or 2 years.
2. If you do, make sure they are in a crop-able position in the picture.
and
3. Let the natural progression happen, forcing it will only make things worse.

Rain... Enough
{picture}
It really needs to stop raining... like by tomorrow. I have to work the entire weekend and I want just like ONE day where it is not raining!!!!!!!! I CANNOT deal with this weather. All it makes me do is what to sleep and it is May! Not December or February.. and this is UNexceptable!
I am still not sure why I continue to live in New York when I can live somewhere else where it is sunny all the time... lol
I hope everyone is enjoying their weather this week because it is crap here in New York...

Sammy Sweetheart Dangerous Perfume
I was at Mandee the other day and I smelt this perfume. Usually their perfumes really aren't that great, but this one was surprisingly good (and no, it's not because I am a die hard Jersey Shore fan lol).
It is $20 and you should definitely go check it out.. I have only seen it at Mandee so far, and you can also buy it on her website here
I have bought perfume from stores like Mandee before and they usually don't last but this one surprisingly has lasted. I am mad that I didn't buy it that day so I am actually going to go back and buy it because it smells so good lol!

Love. Quotes & Giveaway Winners
{picture}
"Sometimes you have to be strong for yourself. You have to know that you're a good person & a good friend. What is meant to be will end up good & what isn’t, wont. Relationships are worth fighting for, but sometimes you can’t be the only one fighting. At times, people need to fight for you. If they don’t, you must just move on & realize what you gave them was more than they were willing to give you. Hopefully, people realize great things when they come around & don’t lose something real. Always fight until you cant anymore, and then be fought for."

"I don’t know why we all hang onto something we know we’re better off letting go. Its like we’re scared of what we really don’t even have. Some of us say we’d rather have something than nothing at all, but the truth is to have something halfway is harder than not having it at all.”

Airline Travel - Flying Anxiety
{picture}
I have serioussss flying anxiety.
You would think the amount that I have flown and been on a plane that I would have gotten over this by now, but it has seriously gotten so much worse.
I don't know what it is about planes that just scare the shit out of me and cause me to think I am going to die when: A. We are taking off, B. when there is any sort of turbulence and C. when we are landing.
And I am not able to make this go away. I have taken Xanax before the plane and that definitely worked, but since it was a connecting flight, I was only anxiety-free for the first trip... soooo that sucked.
It honestly has nothing to do with 9/11 because let me tell you, if someone was trying to hi-jack my plane, they would not get away with it. Ever. They would have to kill me first before I let them take down a plane! I would definitely be that passenger that would not sit back and let it happen - I dont give a shit if you have guns.... well maybe guns, because that would end pretty quickly and badly,,, but I would definitely do whatever I could.
I really think it just has to do with all of the shows about plane crashes and just thinking we are going to plummet out of the sky to the ground and then I think of what my chances are that I will live... And I usually give myself better odds then what would actually happen lol
So, I want to know, do you have anxiety when you fly? And if so, how do you get over it?

Bitter is the New Black
Jen Lancaster is awesome.
Read this book. She is awesome. She has a bunch of other books to that you should check out.
Bitter is the New Black is about how she was unemployed and what happened during that time. She had been a big shot sales professional making a lot of money and living lavishly until she got laid off and then the adventures that took place after that... especially with the lack of money coming in.
It is a great book and she is hysterical.
The way she got a book written was that someone was reading her blog,. www.jennsylvania.com, and they said she should write one and then it all took off from there.
love it!
read it!!

Weekend in Florida
Life in Florida is sooooooo soooo different. Everything moves much slower. I almost feel everyone moves so much slower because it is so damn hot. Is that even a valid excuse to move that slow and have everyone accept it?
My best friend lives there with her husband and I went down to see them. I was hoping the baby was born this weekend, but obviously she was not :( But I did get to spend time with them so that was fun. We just chilled out, I went to the pool and beach and drank.... couldnt ask for more!!!
And we went out to dinner for Mother's Day!
And I got to see the finished baby room... which was SO SO cuteeeee!!
And the pool was just awesome..
Overall it was so nice to leave New York and not have to worry about anything or anyone. No one ruined my trip, no one gave me a hard time, I didn't stress because someone I was dating would be hanging out with other girls.... nothing.
So amazing to not feel like that.
THAT is what I wish had happened when I went to Vegas and California. What a bastard for ruining my trip. Stupid piece of shit!
Anyway,,,I am sad to be home again. It was so nice to be off and to hang out with them. It makes me wonder why I live in New York where it's cold all the time. Hopefully one day I won't be here for the winter!
How was everyone's Mother's Day?
Almost That Time...

Age and Dating.. What is too Young or too Old
{picture}
when is it too young? when is it too old?
I believe Age is just a number.
i have dated people all different ages. and been in relationships with men older then me, the same age as me, and younger then me.
there are a lot of people who judge based off of age. I am not one of those people. I mean there are sometimes extremes and then there are benefits and disadvantages to dating different ages as well. But I know, that removing age from the factor, it all depends on how mature/immature a guy is, and their age is irrelevant.
I do believe that older men have more experience and know what they want most of the time and that younger men, don't, simply because they just dont have the experience or haven't really lived as long as a man that is much older then them.
I just recently turned 26. I have dated men that have been 5-7 years older then me, I have dated men the same age as me, and I have dated men who are 5 years younger then me. All have been different in their maturity levels and honestly it is SO hard to say that dating older will be more mature or dating younger will be more immature, because it depends SO much on the man... and I can say that dating older doesn't necessarily mean more mature.
I know for my age, I am more mature then most girls my age. I have always been that way. I am not saying that I am mature all of the time, because that is simply not true lol... but I have always been on a different level from the girls my age. So the same really goes for men as well I believe.
What is your take?
Do you agree or disagree?

Happy May...oh and Bin Laden's dead...
wow may 1st, where has the time gone?!!
i had to share this picture. I was in New York City this weekend in Washington Square Park and this guy was rolling around on the floor while his friend (the girl) was taking pictures of him. I have no idea if it was maybe because she was becoming a photographer but he was doing these crazy poses and saying things along the lines of ...."just like a tiger". So funny. I had to share.
And the best part is that no one even paid attention to it... hahha
Love it.
And breaking news, incase anyone has not heard... they are confirming on every single news station , website, twitter, facebook, and Presidential address tonight, that Osama Bin Laden is dead.
Good riddance, but I hope that it's actually him and he's the one actually dead this time.... and i really hope it can lower gas prices.... And yes, I want to hear how he died, and I hope they made him suffer.
