2013: The Year of Transformation

grey's anatomy quotes

It has been quite awhile since I have sat near a computer and actually wrote anything meaningful besides writing lesson plans for work. I have definitely neglected a talent and hobby of mine that I was incredibly in love with over the past four years. But life got in the way and caused me to have to find different ways to make money, which was bartending while trying to finish my master's as fast as possible. So, if you have ever bartended before, you can imagine the hours that I was working in order to make the most amount of money as possible.
And I honestly wouldn't change it for the world. It was an amazing experience and I met and worked with so many people and learned a lot of management skills and forced myself to multi-task going to school to finish my master's, working at many different schools being a substitute, and bartending as many nights of the week as possible to pay my rent, and inevitably trying to have a social life! So, my hobby of writing, really got pushed to the very very end of my list of important things in my life.

As I enter 2014, my life is 100% different from how I started off 2013. If I were to have told myself in 2013 that in 2014 my life would be like this, I would have laughed in my face! But it has been the worst, best, hardest, most incredible experience ever in my life and I would literally change nothing or want it to be any different.

I can never just change one thing about my life. It usually has to be like if I change one, then everything else needs to change as well. Every year I think has been the hardest year of my life and I have accomplished one great thing and so forth, but 2013, this year has been the BIG year for me.

2013:
Graduated, received my master's and got 3 New York State Teaching Certificates
Went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Met the love of my life
Rented a shore house
Went on vacation to Europe: Austria, Germany, Italy
Got engaged
Found out I was having a baby girl
Got Married
Moved into a house with my husband
Got my first 5th grade teacher job in the Bronx

See what I mean, I don't do anything just half assed. I make sure its all the way!
My life has went from being the single girl who lived with her friends and was just making it by from bartending and working at shitty preschool or substitute jobs to being a grown up.

My life that lays ahead of me is so exciting, I wish this baby would get here now. Collecting girls clothes and getting ready for June 2014 is like the countdown of a lifetime.

I also never thought I would find the man I would love, marry, and have a child with, ever in my life. I literally couldn't have ever been so lucky. I actually still can't believe I got so lucky. After all of these years of having such shit luck, it finally changed.

And here's to the transformation that is about to happen in life.

And as for transformation, I will be focusing on my new life: Army Wife, Teacher, Mom to Be, House maker, life.   Ahhhhhhhh who would have ever thought!!!!!!

Stay tuned.

Happiness Is..

It is holiday time, I need to remember what it is in life that makes me happy. Somewhere along the beaten path, I have slightly forgotten what and how. A lot of people have been doing posts like this lately so I figure why not.

“Maybe mistakes are what make our fate... without them what would shape our lives? Maybe if we had never veered off course we wouldn't fall in love, have babies, or be who we are. After all, things change, so do cities, people come into your life and they go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart... and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away” --Sex& The City

I Want This Some Day..

I want this one day. Not now, but one day --when i find the right one. I am really don't like to be single.. I guess this is why I never really am. I am a very people-y person and I love to have love surrounding me at all times. Dont get me wrong I LOVE being single and doing whatever I want to do... but still.. i am a mush so i like the whole mushy stuff. But whatever... this will be the only happy love go lucky want a boyfriend post you will see from me for a very long time because the feeling is prettyyyyy much gone... i just like the love pictures.

I like the whole love thing.

I love the butterflies, the happiness, the kisses, the hugs, the having someone to hang out with and wanting to hang out with them.

I love the calling someone just to say hi, and texting good morning or good night, and waking up to someone in the morning. Or experiencing different amazing times with another person.

I know I am not ready emotionally or mentally for a relationship right now because of how much it took out of me with T, and I feel like even with non-relationships right now I am half assing it because it is too much for me to put a lot of myself into it, and that sucks! I dont want to be like that, I am not a half-asser, especially in relationships. I also think because T and I never really had that... I am a very passionate, intimate person, and it got surpressed because T was not at all so I have forgotten what its like to get touched or held or kissed a lot, and I used to LOVE that.. and now I am like ugh, no... I am hoping to find my in between balance because I love it all, especially the kisses. Love it.

I guess I have to wait for the right person, at the right time, and who knows when that will be?!

I am just saying that love is nice... especially when it goes the right way...

And I especially loveeee this picture....

You Fill My Buckets

I found a great post today. Take a look at My Teacups in Peony's post and loved that she shouted out the Starbucks guy, so I wanted to write a post dedicating my happiness to the random people that make life go forward.
And it made me smile, so here are some people that fill my imaginary bucket with happiness.

Mother's Day is coming up and it is so hard to show how much you actually appreciate your mother. There is actually no way to sum up my love and thankfulness for what she has done for me in any sort of card, gift, flowers etc. I have yet to figure out what the best way to do that is, but thank god she is my mom, I wouldn't ask for anyone else. Even when I make the worst decisions, she still supports me.

the bff C and S for being so great and understand and always being there for me no matter what. the memories have been awesome. lets keep that shit up.

my PIC, M for putting up with my crap all the time and pretending like you like me :) because i love ya and you know it.

TJN lovers, for always being there to make me laugh when shit hits the fan and being able to deal with it with me, no matter how many swears fly out of my mouth, and yours, and the drunken happy hour stories and the daily emails i look forward to.

Vishnu in India for making my life so much easier and so I dont have to heard "we cannot resize PDFs" anymore!

Boss for saving my ass every time I fuck up. Thanks for helping me out -- and being there.

staff and the dogs at the shelter, for being awesome and making me smile. I wish I could help you out more, but I guess 2 hours is better than nothing at all.

thanks blogger friends who makes this blogging thing awesome and make my days less boring and give me great stuff to read.

to the guys at the gas station, for being so friendly and nice and giving me good Arabic music to listen to.

thanks for getting me hooked on blogging, 20 something blogger network!

my father, for inspiring me to get a career and pushing me to be a better person.

And last but never least
the couple that owns my dry cleaners, for always being SO nice and never ruining my clothes.

have a great weekend.

Once a Cheater...

"There comes a time when you have to stand up and shout:

This is me damn it! I look the way I look, think the way I think, feel the way I feel, love the way I love! I am a whole complex package. Take me...or leave me. Accept me - or walk away! Do not try to make me feel like less of a person, just because I don't fit your idea of who I should be and don't try to change me to fit your mold. If I need to change, I alone will make that decision.

When you are strong enough to love yourself 100%, good and bad - you will be amazed at the opportunities that life presents you."

I found this quote for my best friend today. She came over upset last night, told me some crazy information about her boyfriend and pretty much clear evidence that points to the one word that no one wants to have in their relationship vocabulary: CHEATER.

I don't know know what she is going to do. I support her either way. I thought that quote was best fit for this situation because in midst of conversations between them, there were things that he wasn't feeling about their situation, which really, no one is perfect. And I believe if you are with someone, you are WITH them. You are all in-- regardless of what they do, look like, or act like or the baggage that accompanies them. You have it all. You cannot have one part, a little of the second part and then choose not to have the third part. This is not pizza. You can't pick off the toppings that you don't like. Its 100% or nothing.

I hope he mans up to his actions and speaks the truth.... I hope this is false!!!!!!!!!!!! I really do and I hope for the best.

Ciao
