Operation New Friends

Best friends ♥

Isn't it nice to always believe that your friends will always be there for you no matter what?
Wouldn't it be the perfect world if no one ever moved away and you all lived in the same neighborhood?
Or wouldn't it be great if people never got jealous?

All of these things are just wishes that you think of when you're in middle school or high school or you just met new friends in college. I have never had luck with friends, especially those who were girls, until I went to college.

I wasn't one to have lots of close friends, but many acquaintances. But when I did find those girls who I actually liked, I wanted to keep them around for good.

It's understandable but also unfortunate how you for so many years can be so close to people but once you get some miles inbetween you, its like cell phones, facebook, email, letters, etc. don't exist anymore. We are literally not in the age anymore where you just cannot contact someone; even if they move to another country. It is quite literally as simple as downloading a free chat app on your iphone.

Twitter, gchat, gmail, skype, whatsapp, tellatalk, google talk, text messages, emails, facebook, facebook chat.  I mean, I could really keep going for hours with the amount of free shit that is out there for social media in order to be in contact with people.

The real point is: can you take the 2 seconds out of your life to ask a friend, someone who was your best friend, that you used to talk to everyday, how they are? And I am not even talking about a phone call here, because quite honestly, who really makes phone calls these days anymore? I have tried to think of one of my girl friends that I could actually call on the phone and they would answer the first time I called.... and I come up with zero. How sad.

The meaning behind my post here is that when life changes, so does your friendship. When things don't go exaclty how everyone would like and not everyone is happy, it can really changes things in friendships. For example, money can make and break friendships. Especially when living with people and money is involved. You would think that it really wouldn't matter because hey, she is your best friend or they are your friends, but in actuality, it is not quite that easy.

There are so many factors in life that will bring friendships to a lower level. I have noticed that with my friends that have kids and move away, they tend to get very selfish. The world really does only revolve around them, their family and their kids. And maybe when I have my daughter I will start to see where they are coming from, but in the mean time? I really don't understand.

Then there are the distances between people that causes friendships to decrease. Or the lack of contact. The facts: It is not hard to send a text message to your friend and ask how life is. It takes MAYBE 1 second to put in their name and type "hey how are you" and then it's on them to respond. Maybe even showing that you care about someone to see if they are alive if you haven't heard from them in awhile. And then maybe I see things completely different from some people who I thought were my friends.

In the end, having all these friends, sharing all these memories and experiences before you are married and entering into your own family and focusing on that, those friends who can't deal with being apart of that life, will disappear.

I have been searching my whole entire life for a friend that would be my older sister, my best friend, like in all the girly movies on TV. And the ones I found have come and gone and then the ones who I thought I could depend on, have changed when I recently got married and now having a baby. I guess maybe I expect too much out of people, but if my "best friend" was pregnant and you are such a wonderful friend, wouldn't you maybe offer to help them move? Or offer to hang out? Or text and say how are you feeling?

Like I said, I guess i expect too much.

I am lucky to have married someone who shares these mutual feelings with me and he is my best friend. Of course it is not the same thing as having a girl I can go shopping with or share stories about my husband when I am mad at him with, but I definitely got lucky on that end.

Now as I am 5 months pregnant and beginning to plan my wedding... this is when it really shows WHO are your REAL friends and actually want apart of this new exciting life you are creating for yourself, and then who are the people who just want to be there for the free cake and free alcohol.

In the end, the most important part of life, is your family. Now that I have made my own little family, my relentless efforts that I took to make sure my friends knew I cared about them and how much I would do for them, is changing, while I am trying to do what's best for me.

What's best for me, and what's in the best interest of my friends who are not starting a family, are totally different things. While I can respect that, it is seemingly difficult for people who used to be my drinking buddies. Totally understandable, but it's time to find people who have the same values in life as my husband and I.

That being said.... how do people in their late 20's find new friends!?

2013: The Year of Transformation

grey's anatomy quotes

It has been quite awhile since I have sat near a computer and actually wrote anything meaningful besides writing lesson plans for work. I have definitely neglected a talent and hobby of mine that I was incredibly in love with over the past four years. But life got in the way and caused me to have to find different ways to make money, which was bartending while trying to finish my master's as fast as possible. So, if you have ever bartended before, you can imagine the hours that I was working in order to make the most amount of money as possible.
And I honestly wouldn't change it for the world. It was an amazing experience and I met and worked with so many people and learned a lot of management skills and forced myself to multi-task going to school to finish my master's, working at many different schools being a substitute, and bartending as many nights of the week as possible to pay my rent, and inevitably trying to have a social life! So, my hobby of writing, really got pushed to the very very end of my list of important things in my life.

As I enter 2014, my life is 100% different from how I started off 2013. If I were to have told myself in 2013 that in 2014 my life would be like this, I would have laughed in my face! But it has been the worst, best, hardest, most incredible experience ever in my life and I would literally change nothing or want it to be any different.

I can never just change one thing about my life. It usually has to be like if I change one, then everything else needs to change as well. Every year I think has been the hardest year of my life and I have accomplished one great thing and so forth, but 2013, this year has been the BIG year for me.

2013:
Graduated, received my master's and got 3 New York State Teaching Certificates
Went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Met the love of my life
Rented a shore house
Went on vacation to Europe: Austria, Germany, Italy
Got engaged
Found out I was having a baby girl
Got Married
Moved into a house with my husband
Got my first 5th grade teacher job in the Bronx

See what I mean, I don't do anything just half assed. I make sure its all the way!
My life has went from being the single girl who lived with her friends and was just making it by from bartending and working at shitty preschool or substitute jobs to being a grown up.

My life that lays ahead of me is so exciting, I wish this baby would get here now. Collecting girls clothes and getting ready for June 2014 is like the countdown of a lifetime.

I also never thought I would find the man I would love, marry, and have a child with, ever in my life. I literally couldn't have ever been so lucky. I actually still can't believe I got so lucky. After all of these years of having such shit luck, it finally changed.

And here's to the transformation that is about to happen in life.

And as for transformation, I will be focusing on my new life: Army Wife, Teacher, Mom to Be, House maker, life.   Ahhhhhhhh who would have ever thought!!!!!!

Stay tuned.

Catskill Mountains

It didn't rain yesterday so I was able to go up the mountains to the Catskills!!

My grandparents used to have a house up there and there is a waterfall that I like to go to up there but I can never get anyone to go. So TB and I made the trip up there and found it and it was awesome, cold, but awesome.

It was definitely cold up there!! We went exploring through the woods and found some cars that fell off cliffs and stuff. It was pretty awesome... I was very nosey so I wanted to get a closer look at the cars so we climbed down this steep mountain/hill thing and it was pretty difficult to get up and down. Im hurtin today from all this exercise!

I saw my grandparent's old house they had up there too...

I wish it hadn't been so cold but its better than rain!!

It is so pretty in the fall....

see it kinda looks like an Indian head? Sorta? Well thats Indian Head Mountain.

I also went to the Lukemia Walk this weekend, which was nice, although I missed the walk got there too late, but I saw my friends there so that was nice moral support for them! Then I watched the Yankee Game with some friends and that was good times as well. Esp since they won and kicked ass in the 13th inning.

Went out to dinner Friday for my dad's birthday and watched the Yankee Game with the fam that night too. It was a good weekend, lots of family & friends and hiking and Yankee Games and drinking. Although I did not go to the dog shelter today so that sucked but it was pouring rain and mad cold, so it was semi-justified.

How were your weekends lovies!?

Some Ventation

Man, my life has been insane over the past month or two.

As you all know, we have been re-applying for our jobs and still have yet to find out if we have them or not. We will most likely find out tomorrow and/or Friday.
And then, T and I have broken up and are in the process of moving out. The mental stress and draining this is taking on me is huge. I might need to go to a spa for a week or something and get my brain and heart fixed after this.

My friend and I went to look at an apartment the other day and we really liked it. We applied for it, they approved us and we are thinking of taking it starting October. I told my friend C today that i really am all over the place and i would like to get the apartment but if like 1/2 through September i decide against it, that she cant be mad at me and id pay her back the $75 for the apt. fee.. because i dont know what im doing right now, i cant even decide what to eat for food right now, let alone commit to an apartment for a year. i def dont want to let it go, but i cant think straight and i dont know if thats the best choice and i dont know if im going to be able to figure it out right this second in the mind set that i am in and i dont know if im going to be able to get over this fast and i dont know how i feel about living with someone else right now after tom, bc its depressing and im so upset. So she understands, and says not to worry about it. It sucks, I really hate letting people down and I feel like that is all i have been doing EVERY SINGLE DAY.

T and I sat down and talked finally last night and we talked about a lot of stuff. There is just so much stuff, I dont even want to put it up here because its long. In the end, its over, there is nothing I can do right now to fix it. We are moving out by the 1st. He has made up his mind. He is really angry and upset right now. So to just leave him alone. I told him I couldnt leave him alone until he gave me his exact answer and he did. And now I have to just leave it be.. I can't force it anymore.
Maybe he will talk to me again one day. Maybe. Who knows? I can't keep crying all the time. I need to go to a happier place.

I don't know if that is moving in with C. I have no idea. Who knows?

Right now all i know is that i have to finish moving out, I am losing my boyfriend and best friend, everyone is losing their jobs all around me, I may or may not have a job and if i DO have a job who knows what it will be and where, and this all is happening by Sunday.

Holy fuck.

The Unimportant Things

Hope everyone had a nice Monday... it was gorgeous out today and I didn't get to leave the office once. Bummer. Monday is the worst day of the week. I absolutely despise it! I need this economy to turn around ASAP so I can get on with my LIFE. I am ready to start the rest of my life.. this has been some sort of college/real life transitional period, so i think that is over!

Moonjava, tagged me in a post so here it is!!! Thanks Lady :)

Rules:
1. Mention the person who nominated you.
2. List six unimportant things that make you happy.

(1) Right when the sun goes down after its been really hot out .... its nice to sit outside!

(2) Randomly funny emails during a crappy day at work or text messages

(3) Girls nights... actually that would be considered important so im not sure if it belongs on this list ooops :)
Girls Night Out Pictures, Images and Photos

(4) Really awesome websites... that I wish I could design!

(5) The fact that Google has all of my answers.... when I used to be in college stoned and we had so many questions that needed to be answered and didn't know about google! So im glad its here now!

(6) Being tan, I always feel better when I am tan

3. Tag six blogs, state the rules & notify them with a teeny comment on their blog.

1. One Day Paris
2. Someday I'll get there
3. The One Curly Fry
4. Tough Crowd
5. *Life is Sweet*

Everyone else I wanted to tag was already tagged :)

Like the new signature? I am still experimenting with photoshop....
Also! I have decided that coming in June I am on the list to have a blog layout made for me from Sherbet Blossom Designs
SherbetBlossomDesigns
So I am super excited about that! I really am web page illiterate when it comes to this stuff. I really shouldn't have dropped out of that graphic art class in college. damnit. So that is something to look forward to. Plus we are JUST on the verge of booking this trip. God I can't wait because the planning part just sucks -- its so much research to figure out where to go, where to stay, which plane ticket website will give me the better deal with the best times AND the least layover time! AH - I just want to go! No planning. Obv that doesn't work.

Since it was so nice out tonight and I was stuck inside all day, I skipped the gym and I rode my bike (first time i have ridden a bike since like 2004 BTW) (and it was QUITE hard) to my friends house and we walked around town for a couple hours. So that was nice to get out and be outside after a long ass day.

This weekend me and my girls are taking a pole dancing class

Should be interesting! We signed up at Sheckys Girls Night Out and I definitely think I will not be able to do that! Can't wait to update that one for next week!

Good night all

Dog Park Adventures

I love that cartoon -- it is so great that I hung it up in my cube and gave it to my boss. It's going to be a long day today... my ads haven't been done and I will probably be here really late. FUN !

What a beautiful weekend this weekend this was! It was very productive as well. Between dinner with friends, my baby cousins 1st birthday family party, another friends birthday, went back to the shelter (yay!), dog park adventures, fell in love with a puppy that was rescued from a kill shelter in Georgia and then realized 'oh yeah i cant have dogs in my apt' and got sad, and dinner with more friends! Seriously full weekend I am so tired now!

I am hoping the pictures from the dog park go up really soon, here is the website of the guy that takes pictures from the dog park we went to. http://dotfur.smugmug.com/ If you are interested in one of the puppies from the kill shelter, they are SO cute, definitely go there or contact me and I can put you in touch with the lady who rescued them because they are up for adoption!

So cuteeeeeeee I want them so bad! One day.... one day..

So at the dog park it was pretty interesting, we went with my friends dogs, Simba and Storm, and we were hanging out there while the dogs played. It was pretty funny to see all the dogs playing together, and it's pretty much like its own community which at first I thought was lame, but by the end of the time we were there we had actually met some nice people and I realized that this is what dog owners do; they hang out with other dogs! And I so want to be apart of that! We met this lady who trains dogs and she had just came back from recently rescuing dogs from a kill shelter in Georgia and she had one of the puppies in the car with her. As soon as the pictures are posted on the website I will post them up here, but the puppy that I got to hold was SO adorable and cute, I WISH WISH WISH I could have him :( But of course I cant.

One of the bigger pit bulls, Tiny, was playing too rough with some of the other dogs and was playing with Simba and he is MUCH bigger than Simba, him only being a 4 month old pit bull, so it was a little unsafe for a much bigger dog like that to be rough with him  so after an encounter with being TOO rough, we decided to go to the complete other side of the park so Simba didn't get hurt. It was a fun experience though and I really want to go again; with my own dog!!! But in the meantime.... lil Simba will have to do!

It is about to be 5 and I am no where NEAR leaving :(

ps. i just saved a bird that got attacked in my jobs parking lot by another bird. I brought it to the animal hospital and dropped it off so they can help it. I hope its okay!!!!
