Interactive Thursday!

Topic:

What is one song or album that you’ve listened to over and over again in a very rough period of your life?
What is your sad song?

Mine:

Oh god..... there are so many.

This is the main one.... oh god. So good.
Sleether and Amy Lee... god everytime I heard that song I wanted to cry. This came out when I was mourning over my ex from high school while in college, and we had broken up and i still loved him... still do.
Ugh!

What is yours? I hope this isn' too depressing! Thoughts!? Comments?!

My saddest time was when my mom passed away my senior year of highschool and Tim McGraws song "Live like you were dying" came out! That was my song for the longest time! Its still hard to listen to sometimes.

Well, I have a few, two are related to my breakup with the ex of four years.

Behind These Hazel Eyes--Kelly Clarkson
Gravity - Sara Bareilles

Then, there's the stand by "I'm pissed off at the world" song that I listen to at full blast when I'm in a really bad mood....

BREAK STUFF by Limp Bizkit. Try it, you'll feel better. I promise.

Runaway Train - Soul Asylum

"Can you help me remember how to smile
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded
Life's mystery seems so faded"

MysterG-Great choice.

One song in particular that really helped in high school was Billy Joel's "You're Only Human (Second Wind)". I also love his "Summer Highland, Falls", along with some good "scream out the window" songs, like "Miami 2017", and "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant".

Elton John's "The King Must Die", "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues", "Take Me To The Pilot", "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding", and "Burn Down The Mission".

Pearl Jam's version of "Love Reign O'Er Me".

Metallica's "Frayed Ends of Sanity" and "Fuel".

I love that song. I like the Martina McBride song Wild Angel or whatever. I also like Fall Out Boy's I don't Care for my mad song.

Blink 182's "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" album. I don't know why, but when anything would be bothering me, since the moment that CD was in my possession, I've just put it on and listened to it repeatedly to calm down.

Counting Crows - August and Everything After. Oddly, its a happy CD for me too.

Also, Kenny Loggins Return to Pooh Corner.

Please don't judge.

Oh a very good one...and completely describes how I feel right now. I try not to listen to sad songs when I'm sad because then it makes me too sad.

OMG I totally listened to that song too when I was getting over my ex. Such a good song. I would say I also listen to Kelly Clarkson's songs when I was getting over my ex and recently I have been listening to Carly Simon because it reminds me of my family, which is both happy and sad because I miss them. Aww, Evanescence. They should come out with a new album! I hear them!

I dig sad songs. Why do I keep on hurting myself, I have no idea. But one of the sad songs that I can think of for now is, My Immortal by Evanescence.

And if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave, Cuz your presence still lingers here, And it wont leave me alone

Check out these albums all really good. Great post I enjoyed doing this. Have a good week-end.

Sad songs...everything I listened to in my teens and most of my twenties. Sarah Mclaughlin, U2, some Springsteen...I can't stomach them anymore though. I need happy songs except for when I want the occasional good cry.
